Hi my name is Emily Pfaff, and I'm so excited to be your child's teacher. This is my sixth year teaching. In 2013 I graduate from NWMSU with my B.S. in Elementary education grades 1-6, and Art education grades K-9. In 2017 I completed my Masters in Art Education from MU. I love getting to see the students grow from kindergarten through fifth grade, it's amazing to watch them find their Independence and creativity. In our art room, students are introduced to new artist through VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies), we work with various materials, big ideas, and choice.
A little more about me.
As you might already know I enjoy art and creating. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. Watching movies and being outdoors. I love snow storms. (I am occasionally known for flushing Ice :). It is a known fact that if you flush ice it will make your water pipes get colder causing the ground outside your house to be colder leading to more snow to collect on the ground. :)) But I equally love a warm day outside soaking up the sun and hanging out by the water.
A interesting fact about me- I once won a trip to England and Scotland by calling into the radio station and answering a question about Harry Potter when I was 13. We spent a week overseas getting to visit the famous landmarks along with getting a private tour of the the set. It was a great experience, we played quidditch, created brooms, wands, and enjoyed a once in a lifetime vacation.
Lastly let me introduce you to Theodore. He think's that he is a small puppy and loves people. When I come home from work I am greeted with a hug, or he sit's on my lap. He does not realize that he ways 180 pounds. Theodore can sit, shake, army crawl, sit pretty, wait, lay down, play dead and high five. My favorite thing I have taught him is "do you want warmed up." This is great for when it's raining out side or cold. When you say those magic words he will come over and stand in front of you to have a blanket put on him.
